Product and packaging marking may include production dates, expiry dates, batch numbers, alphanumeric identifiers, barcodes or Data Matrix codes. We check each printer’s capabilities against the model and samples; no single method suits every substrate.
Thermal inkjet printers — TIJ
Cartridge-based printers for text and codes. Print height, resolution, working distance and ink type matter. Handheld and conveyor applications require different configurations.
Industrial laser marking systems
The laser type depends on the substrate and required result. We assess samples, contrast, mark durability, protective guarding and extraction requirements before selection.
Thermal transfer overprinting — TTO
Ribbon-based printing on compatible flexible packaging. Packaging machine mode, print width, film composition and ribbon selection are key inputs.
Large character DOD printers
Large character coding, for example on transit packaging. Text height, substrate, ink and print distance are checked for the selected model.
How do alphanumeric codes support product traceability?
A coding printer applies an identifier. Traceability also requires linking that identifier to product records, verifying readability and defining data exchange with production systems. We agree the integration scope separately from printer selection.
